• The Rudegeairs

  • Though he has strong family ties in Franklin, Ryan Rudegeair spent much of his early childhood in New Orleans, only visiting PA on occasion. Once he officially moved to Franklin at age 10, he attended St. Patrick's school and Franklin High School. After graduating from Penn State University, he soon made the move back to Franklin full time.

Ryan’s wife Jess, who grew up in the area and attended Rocky Grove High School, moved to Charlotte after college and never intended to come back to Franklin to live. She came back to be closer to family after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She didn’t intend to stay, but she met Ryan and the two decided this is where they would start and raise their own family.

The couple now own Buffalo Street Lanes and are deeply involved in the community through volunteer efforts. In addition to serving on local non-profit boards, Ryan serves on Franklin’s city council and Jess is on the Oil Region Library Association board.

Ryan said the community has been welcoming and supportive of their business. “I wouldn’t have been able to do much of what I have done without them.”

They said Franklin is a great place to raise their son, and appreciate being close to friends and family. They enjoy the downtown, the city parks, and the fact that the town is so easily walkable. They even got married in Bandstand Park.
