Chris Simms was born and raised in Franklin, so moving back here to start his own family was a no brainer.
After graduating from Franklin High School he left the area to attend IUP. He moved back home and worked in Law Enforcement until an opportunity called him to northwest Indiana to work in chemical sales.
“It wasn’t that I hated the Midwest, but it wasn’t home. No hills, very few trees, no beautiful rivers.
It was corn, corn and wind. I had to move home,” Chris remembered.
He had an opportunity to enter the Investment/Financial Planning world in an office in Grove City. It took a couple years, but he worked his way back to Franklin in 2009. It was around that time that he met his wife Claire at IUP where he was serving as an alumni advisor for his fraternity.
Chris loves being outdoors; bird hunting, archery hunting, fly fishing, and just being on the river. For an outdoorsman, this area is hard to beat. Chris is excited to show his own son the natural beauty of the area and teach him how to appreciate and protect it.
As part of the downtown Franklin business community, Chris has immersed himself in the Chamber and other volunteer boards.
“I’m glad to and enjoy giving back. We have such wonderful people here and that fosters great organizations that I’m happy to be a part of,” Chris said.
The thing he appreciates most about the community is the people. Chris’s parents are still here in Franklin and now that he has a family, being close to them is more important than ever.
“I enjoy the people most. We have a wonderful breed of hard workers in this area, and it shows.”
