Program Services Aide - full time

Venango County Association for the Blind (VCAB) is currently seeking a full time Program Services Aide. Be able to work Monday through on a flexible scheduled determined by client schedules. Candidates must also live within reasonable commute of our office 3035 State Route 257, Seneca, PA 16346. Though the VCAB office is located in Venango County, services extend to Clarion and Forest Counties as well.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Transport clients to appointments locally and out of county = Provide sighted guide service (will train) = Provide in home services (i.e. reading mail, filling out forms, paying bills, etc.) = Schedule and conduct Child and Adult Vision Screening and Education Programs = Document services provided as determined in the PAB Service Handbook and according to VCAB Standards = Assist with recreational and fundraising activities as requested = Other duties as may be assigned from the Executive Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Must be 18 years of age or older • Valid PA driver’s license with proof of insurance and clean driving record • The ability to drive in Pittsburgh, Erie, New Castle, Hermitage, etc. Excellent communication, computer, and documentation skills. Basic literacy is required. Capability to read, accurately interpret and analyze written information, and legibly prepare written documentation • Comfortability working with the blind and vision impaired. •  Ability to work well within a team atmosphere  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Prior experience with human services helpful

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This full time Service Aide position starts at $14.00 per hour with the capacity to be scheduled up to 35 hours per week. After successful completion of the 90 day introductory period, the hourly rate will increase to $14.25.  VCAB provides full time employees the following benefits: • Paid Sick Time • Paid Vacation Time • Paid Company Holidays • Simple IRA with a 3% Company Match and Flexible Schedules
