Communications Specialist
Posted: 08/16/2026We are seeking a motivated and creative Communications Specialist to help share the cooperative’s story with employees, members, and the community. This position plays an important role in building positive relationships, promoting cooperative programs, and ensuring clear, consistent communication across internal and external audiences.

What You’ll Do
- Create and maintain internal communications, including employee publications, intranet content, employee directory updates, and employee materials such as business cards and name tags.
- Coordinate external communications, including print publications, advertising, informational materials, website content, digital media, LinkedIn, lobby monitor updates, on-hold messages, and video projects.
- Support community relations by promoting positive relationships with members, community groups, organizations, and special interest groups.
- Facilitate and support cooperative outreach programs such as Safety City, first responder programs, Youth Tour, scholarships, sponsorships, Employee Directed Giving, and community events.
- Serve as the Cooperative’s primary photographer and videographer, including maintaining the photo library and coordinating approvals for field photography.
- Assist with planning and execution of annual member events, member surveys, business supply ordering, credit union partnerships, and other duties as assigned.
- Serve as the internal communication expert by helping departments share important employee news, updates, and announcements.
- Promote the Cooperative’s mission, values, and commitment to reliable service and community involvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in communication, public relations, or related field
- Two(2)+ years of experience
- Must have valid PA driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees, members, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable creating content for newsletters, websites, social media, and print materials.
- Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with design, publishing, or social media tools is a plus.
