  • Custodian

    There is an 8 hour per day Custodian position open for bid in the Franklin Area Schools. In-house and outside
    applications will be accepted (in-house will have first consideration). The person filling the position will be
    responsible for cleaning and other duties as assigned. The position is as follows:
    Custodial Floater 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM 8 hours
    The position is a floater who will mainly be based at the Franklin Area High School and the main shift will be 2:30 –
    10:30 PM. They may be asked to work at different school buildings depending on the substitutes needed in the
    different buildings. Floaters ideally must have comprehensive knowledge with the general operations of the schools,
    especially for filling in on a task as told by management even under minimal supervision. A floater employee must
    be detail-oriented, a fast learner, and an excellent communicator to handle various tasks and escalate concerns as
    needed.
    Persons bidding on this position must be willing to fill in at all buildings and be able to work 2:30 – 10:30 PM and
    possibly 7:00AM – 3:00 PM. They must have a basic knowledge on running equipment related to the job i.e.: Floor
    scrubbers, polishers, high speed buffers, etc. and have a working knowledge of cleaning procedures used in the
    Franklin Area School District.
    All interested persons should submit their completed bid form or application to the Central Receiving’s Office no
    later than 3:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2023 (in-house bids) or Tuesday, May 30, 2023 (outside applications).
    (This has been approved by the ESPA #2.)
    Interviews will be scheduled after the close of bidding.
    Persons bidding on custodial positions in the Franklin Area School District should be aware that by law they must
    have training in the following: 2 hour Asbestos Awareness Course; Right to Know, i.e. M.S.D.S. and knowledge of
    chemical usage as it pertains to their working products.
