This half-day training program is on how to successfully and time-effectively
enforce commercial energy code requirements for “simple” commercial
buildings based on findings from a recent PCCA/PSD field study. Part 1 of the program will focus on building envelope insulation requirements, and air leakage. Part 2 will focus on lighting, domestic hot water, and HVAC, and Part 3 will focus on reviewing COMcheck documentation and provide an overview of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code for Simple Commercial Buildings guide developed by the Institute for Market Transformation and other resources.
Learning objectives:
By attending this course, participants will be able to:
• Explain the underlying reasons behind energy code provisions and understand the impacts of common building practices as they apply to the building envelope, and lighting and mechanical systems.
• Learn how to review COMcheck documentation to verify compliance
• Improve the efficiency of plan reviews and inspections based on field study
