Seven years into the implementation of the 2009 energy code in Pennsylvania, several items remain lingering compliance problems. Data from 171 Pennsylvania job sites show that focusing on duct leakage, insulation installation quality, and high efficacy lighting could save up to $2.7 million in the first year with savings of over $1 billion over 30 years. Energy codes may not be code officials’ top priority but some energyrelated
elements can pose unexpected health and safety risks. This program will
feature audience interaction and PSD’s famous Energy Codes Jeopardy game.
