The education ranger at Oil Creek State Park will hold a program on monarch butterflies from 2 to 3 p.m. September 3 at the Egbert Farm Day Use Area small pavilion. This past year the migratory monarch butterfly was been added to the IUCN list of endangered species. This program will focus on the lives of these wonderful butterflies and what you can do to support the local populations near your home. We have raised a small number of butterflies that will hopefully be ready for tagging and release on this date. Register by emailing ikuberry@pa.gov or calling 814-676-1810.
