The Oil Region Alliance (ORA), designated Destination Marketing Organization for Venango County tourism, will host a free open house style Homeshare Education Event Monday, October 26 from 4-7 p.m. at Rhoades Center at the Oil Region Venango Campus (1801 W. 1st St., Oil City, PA 16301).
The event is free and open to the public, specifically those who currently run or are interested in starting a homeshare, the short-term rental properties reserved through websites such as AirBnB and VRBO.
“Homeshares have been popping up all over our region in the last few years,” said Oil Region Alliance Communications and Tourism Manager Emily Altomare. “This is an opportunity for those operators to connect with our program and learn more about our marketing efforts.”
Attendees can come and go at their leisure, collect materials including trail maps and amenity brochures, ask questions, learn how to be included in the 2027-2028 Oil Region Guide, which is currently in production, and get connected with the PA Restaurant and Lodging Association.
A short presentation will be given at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m.
“Homeshares have become a major contributor to Venango County hotel tax and our local economy,” Altomare said. “We want to make sure the operators of these lodging assets are part of the larger tourism conversation in our region.”
