Bowties and Pearls NAS Awareness Event

October is NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) Awareness Month, and Venango County Human Services is holding a Bowties and Pearls event to raise awareness on October 9.

Wear your bow ties or pearls on October 9 and post a picture to the county's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/VENCOHS. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a $100 pizza gift card for the winning business/agency and a $50 Walmart gift card for the winning individual. 

NAS happens when a baby withdraws from drugs the mother took while pregnant. These poor babies were born addicted to drugs or alcohol and we are trying to make the public aware that this happens, even in Venango County.
