SUMMARY:Weekend at the Races
DESCRIPTION:Come join the fun and excitement at Tri-City Raceway Park over the extended July 4 holiday weekend. "We have fun activities and great racing planned\, and there will be something of interest for all racing fans\," said track owner Merle Black.\n\nThe activity will kick off on Friday evening\, with a practice session for all classes that will be in action over the weekend. Grandstand admission will be free of charge\, but there will be Pit Passes sold for all competitors and those fans wanting to get up close and personal with the racers.\n\nRacing action will be held Saturday and Sunday. Complete programs will be offered each night\, While some classes may race both nights\, some will only be in action one night\, so please check the dance card to be sure that your favorites will be there if you can only attend one night.\n\nThe Shawgo Real Estate\, LLC 410 Sprint Cars will race both nights. Will A.J. Flick continue his hot streak? Will Rickie Peterson be back to challenge Flick? Will past champions like Jack Sodeman\, Jr. and Brandon Matus step up their games? Will Bob Felmee rebound from his crash? Or\, will somebody score an upset?\n\nThe Donovan & Bauer Auto Group 358 Modifieds will only race on Saturday. But many of those racers are expected to return Sunday to challenge the Big Block Modifieds of the BRP Modified Tour. The touring series cars appear to be identical to the 358s\, with one important exception. The two classes of Modifieds have different powerplants under the hoods. The touring cars can use 467 cubic inch engines\, while the track regulars use smaller displacement engines in their cars. But\, when conditions are right\, the track regulars can hold their own against the touring series. Drivers like Jimmy Holden\, Kevin Hoffman\, Lonny Riggs\, and many others will probably do double duty. Jeremiah Shingledecker has two complete cars\, one with a Big Block and the other with a Small Block\, so it will be interesting to see which car he elects to run on Sunday. New Yorker Eric Rudolph\, winner of the Tri-City opener a few weeks back\, also has both powerplants available\, so fans may see him in action this weekend as well.\n\nThe 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks will race both nights also. Levi Maskal is two-for-two already. Can he stretch his winning streak to four in a row? Or will another racer knock him off his throne? \n\nThe Penn Ohio Pro Stocks will take on the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks. The qualifying races will be held Saturday and the feature event will be Sunday. \n\nThe Vintage Modifieds will be in action Saturday\, while the RUSH Sprint Cars and the Junior Sprints will provide some variety to the Sunday program.\n\nAnd\, if you are looking for some activity off the speedpath\, Tri-City Raceway Park will offer that\, too. On Sunday evening\, there will be a spectacular fireworks display to bring in the holiday with a bang! And\, after the racing is finished\, there will be a bonfire and a DJ to conclude the festivities.\n\nThere will be plenty of free camping (no hookups available) for those who want to spend some leisure time with friends and family at the speedway. \n\nPit gates will open each day at 2 p.m. and grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. On track action will start at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Starting time will move up to 5 p.m. on Sunday.\n\nGeneral admission prices will be $20 for all adults (regardless of age) on Saturday and $25 on Sunday. Students (ages ten to fifteen) will be admitted for $15 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday. Children (ages nine and under) will be free of charge.\n\nPit Passes can be purchased on a package basis or by individual nights. The three-day package will be $90\, the two-day package (good for Saturday and Sunday only) will be $70. Single night Pit Passes will be $25 for Friday\, $35 for Saturday\, and $40 for Sunday.\n\nIf you cannot make it to the track over the holiday weekend\, four-division Sunday Thunder programs will be presented on July 10 and 17 featuring the Shawgo Real Estate\, LLC 410 Sprint Cars\, the Donovan & Bauer Auto Group 358 Modifieds\, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks\, and the 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks.\n\nWatch the website and social media platforms for any changes.\n\nFurther information about Tri-City Raceway Park can be obtained by calling the track office at 724-967-4601\, or by emailing the office at tricityracewaypark2020@gmail.com. Or\, you can check the web at Tri-CityRacewayPark.com\, or the Facebook page at Tri City Raceway Park. Tri-City Raceway Park is located just a few miles north of Franklin\, PA\, at 3430 State Route 417 in Oakland Township.
