The Franklin Gardeners Association is working with the garden clubs in Oil City and Titusville and the Master Gardeners to present the Gardening 2012 to be held at the Venango County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 10.
Doug Oster, the gardening editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, will be among the featured regularly on radio and television programs. He is particularly well-known for his program on public gardens in Pennsylvania, produced for WQED-TV.
Community Services of Venango County will host an Empty Bowls event from 5-8 p.m. on March 15, at Wanango Golf Club. Local chefs will make and donate a meal of soup and bread and local students will create bowl souvenirs for attendees. There will be a silent auction of bowl-themed artwork donated by local artists, and a basket raffle. Help fight hunger in our local community at the area's first Empty Bowls event!
The Spring Small Business Jump Start class runs From Thursday, March 15 through Thursday, May 10. CS Technologies Plus will be holding a “Senior Savvy” Computer Class which is geared to new or inexperienced users of computers. Even though it is called “Senior Savvy”, any age student can attend. Classes are held in their training facility at 2803 State Route 257 in Seneca. The class is 9 hours in length, costs $115.00 and covers computer terminology and basic usage including email, surfing the internet, formatting a letter & uploading photos. The class dates and times are March 16, 23 & 30 (Fridays) from 9am-12 noon OR June 15, 22 & 29th (Fridays) from 9am-12 noon.
